Malwandla Hlekane, a formidable football coach and sports agent,a commercial and fitness model with high fashion and runway traits is burgeoning face in the industry with momentum to impact the market. An award winning presenter, Hlekane is an enthusiastic and intelligent individual who understands his craft and is a versatile creative with talent in more areas than one would expect.He has his sights on influencing the face of African fashion in the years to come. Hlekane was born in Johannesburg South Africa, in April 1994 to a Tsonga father and a Xhosa mother.
Malwandla is a versatile individual and has more to offer than just sports expertise. Over the years Malwandla has evolved into an exquisite model and his ability to use his voice is incredible. Hlekane has featured for Fattis&Monis and shot an ad for WeChat and Standard Bank. Through Alushi Models, Hlekane was signed to New York modelling agency Clavon Models. To date, he has walked and modelled for American, Ghanaian and South African designers across Africa. Recently returned from work in Botswana and already booked for New York in September set to do a few shows in the United States.

Malwandla has bachelors in Arts from the University of Johannesburg. He completed his degree in a BA in sports communication and graduated in 2018. The course focused on communication (media and interpersonal) and the fundamentals of the body which include physiology, anatomy and biomechanics. This aids significantly as he has skill in managing his body and health for various roles.

Malwandla also ventured into media and broadcasting where he began as a radio sports anchor on UJFM drive and a host of the The Game, a vibrant sports show every Monday. UJFM is a local radio station that helped Hlekane move to Soweto TV where he went on to be nominated for the Gauteng Sports Awards for Best Programme of the Year in 2017 and then along with the team went on to win the category in 2018 and additional Best Community media of the Year. This was for the show DlalaMzansi in which Malwandla co-produced and presented in.

Malwandla by trade is a sports coach and has spent time in Germany, specifically in the north, Bremen. He coached kids between the ages of 12 – 16 in various sporting codes predominantly hockey and soccer. He worked in Bremen’s leading non-profit sport facility Sportgarten e.V which is in on the doorstep of Bundesliga team Werder Bremen. After returning he coached at Supersport United in the soccer schools division. He now coaches under the banner of The Hatrick Arena, plying his trade through his own entity and giving back to the Ekhuruleni communities’. He recently obtained his South African Football Association D coaching license and is on his way to international accreditation.
